Hi! My name is Kate Triano. I am a photographer located in Northern Virginia with my wonderful husband Joey and our adorable pup, Pancakes.  My blog features my favorite images from all the shoots I do, and some random stuff as well.

Well we had quite a scary moment over the weekend! Pan spent some time with me outside in the backyard but stayed in the shade and drank plenty of water. We went inside after less than an hour had passed and I gave her a bath. She then proceeded to get get sick in more ways than one in the bathroom and around the house as well. She then couldn't breathe and was severely drooling. We took her to the emergency vet and they had to give her IV fluids and did her bloodwork to make sure her organs were functioning properly. They kept her overnight which was incredibly upsetting for me (and for her I'm sure!). She is now back home and feeling almost 100% thank God!

Heat stroke is a nasty thing and can strike in any animal in this kind of heat.....especially smaller ones. We are very lucky she got away with only dehydration and nauseua.

So please, in this horrible heat and humidity, keep your pets indoors!

Here is a pic of her little arm that had to be shaved for the IV. She looks like a pirate with a peg-leg now. You can see her freckled skin :)

Kristen and Matt were married Saturday at Ft Belvoir. I really enjoyed spending time with them. They are such a sweet, loving kind couple. I hope you guys are having a fab time in St John!

Sorry for the lack of posts since last week! I took a week to bury myself in my office and play catch-up on paperwork, editing, albums, etc. I got a lot done but I think I have a lot more to do this week. It's like a half-year cleaning.

I also have a fun party to blog and also my backyard! It was an ugly jungle of weeds and lava rocks, and now, thanks to a lot of work and a lot of help from my mom, it's an oasis! So stay tuned!
