WELCOME TO MY BLOG!
Hi and welcome to my Blog! I'm Kate Triano, a wedding & lifestyle photographer based in the DC Metro area. I live in a nearby suburb with my wonderfully awesome husband Joey, and our adorably cute dog, Pancakes
I absolutely LOVE what I do and always try to have that passion come through in my photography. I strive to be the best photographer, wife, friend, daughter, sister that I can be (not necessarily in that order!). I update my Blog often with photos from all the weddings and portrait sessions I have. I also post some personal photos/ideas as well. I over-share! :-)
I really really really love comments so leave them as you read them! Enjoy and check back often!

Kara and Dan are getting married soon, yay! They are such a sweet and fun-loving couple, I had such a great time walking around the National Zoo with them. They are lucky enough to live in walking distance so it has a special meaning to them. Most of the animals were off to sleep by the time we got there, but I don’t think I will ever forget what we saw the baby elephant do that day. It is burned into my brain forever! ![]()

I can’t wait for your wedding in October!

WOW was this ever fun! Vicki and I have wanted to do another fun styled shoot together for awhile now, so when Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs launched the Inspired Creations Contest, Vicki happily threw our combined hats in the ring. (is that a run-on sentence?)
I am SO THANKFUL to Lyssa+Kris for being the super hot bride+groom for us. They were after all the shoots main inspirtaion, being high school sweethearts and all. I can’t thank you guys enough for being a part of this!!
to borrow from Vicki’s post:
“I’ve been keeping these images under wraps for a week now and I’m so excited to share them today. The Inspired Creation Contest held by Ami at Elizabeth Anne Designs and Cyd at The Sweetest Occasion challenged wedding vendors to team up and create a unique wedding concept to inspire couples as they plan their event. I couldn’t resist and rushed to create a star-studded team of local DC vendors which included, Kate Triano Photography, Holly Chapple Flowers, and Paperzest. Other amazing vendors that contributed to the design included Unveiled Bridal Designs for the veil, Vintage Mama, a new dress designer on etsy, and Julia Juliette who created the letterpresses coasters.
My absolute favorite part of the shoot was the “Boombox Love” guests book, where guests can leave message for the couple on their big day.
Here are some of the fabulous images, but head over to The Sweetest Occasions Blog to see more, and post your love for the 80’s. We would love to win!”

gorgeousness!!

Kris is kool like that.

Curly was a fantastic model (hillbilly teeth and all).

I am so excited for Alison and Sean’s wedding this coming June at the W Hotel. They are such a lovely, laid back couple who just enjoy one anothers company so much. They made my job so easy! We met up last week in Adams Morgan and had about 15-20 minutes at the most before it poured on us. And I mean DRENCHED us (no umbrella, bad me!). We stood under an awning for at least 20 minutes waiting it out but the clouds and thunder would not go away so we wrapped it up early.
I think we got some great shots though! What do you think?

My amazing hubs took me to NYC to celebrate my 30th birthday over Easter weekend. (my man is cool like that!) We enjoyed a fabulous suite at the Sofitel complete with champagne and the yummiest french press coffee EVER! Turning 30 was definitely weird. I feel kind of old now. ![]()
We also caught the show Wicked at the Gershwin which was just phenomenal. Those people can seriously sing. Here are a few photos from walking around the city.
our view from the room:

After walking around the park for hours we stumbled upon the end of the Easter Parade (which we didn’t know existed). There were quite a lot of characters out, but the best was a large group of people dressed as if it were the 30’s. I was in LOVE with their style!

And then there was this sexy beast….he looked oddly familliar.

Anisha + Matt are getting married this fall at Strong Mansion and I am super excited to shoot their wedding! Anisha was referred to me by my past fabulous clients Tammy and Tim (who i randomly saw yesterday at fair oaks, hollla!)
We met up during the peak of tree blooming at the National Arboretum and I thoroughly enjoyed the lack of mobs of people. It was nice. ![]()

Jessica and Devon were married at the Hillsbourough Winery in Purcellville VA. The rain and chill came, and stayed, but did not dampen the spirits and love filled on this day! (cheesy, but true!) The details were romantic, chic and vintage. Love!

I am one who loves holding a good book in my hands. The smell, the feel of the pages on my fingertips, the words on the page. But WOW, the new Kindle commerical is so amazing it almost makes me want to go buy one!
