OK, I admit it, I am OBSESSED with magazines. Ask Joey, or anyone in my family (we share them, it’s a problem). I buy (and have subscriptions to) a ridiculous amount of fashion/health/beauty and photography magazines. I read them from back to front, who knows why. I am weird like that. I love the end of summer when all the September fall issues hit the newstands. It is such a happy dose of eye candy and makes me dream of crisp fall days in cute skinny jeans, scarfs, and oxfords (my current fall must-have item).
The most recent Jcrew catalogue has an insanely adorable shoot with the cast of The Romantics, which I must now see simply because of this ad campaign (ladies, who is with me?!). I love brands that use actors to embidy their look. I wish I could do that! (Lea Michelle, want to do a shoot with me?) Not only do I want all of the clothes in these ads (in my dreams!), I rip out my favorite pages and they become inspiration for posing my couples. I am definietly using this pose that Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel are rocking in the pic below.

Also check out the adorable fall campagin for Banana Republic starring Krysten Ritter. She typically has the “best friend” roles in rom-coms, but think she will be a leading lady soon. They also created a short video that is so much fun. Click the youtube link below to view it.

WOW was this ever fun! Vicki and I have wanted to do another fun styled shoot together for awhile now, so when Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs launched the Inspired Creations Contest, Vicki happily threw our combined hats in the ring. (is that a run-on sentence?)
I am SO THANKFUL to Lyssa+Kris for being the super hot bride+groom for us. They were after all the shoots main inspirtaion, being high school sweethearts and all. I can’t thank you guys enough for being a part of this!!
to borrow from Vicki’s post:
“I’ve been keeping these images under wraps for a week now and I’m so excited to share them today. The Inspired Creation Contest held by Ami at Elizabeth Anne Designs and Cyd at The Sweetest Occasion challenged wedding vendors to team up and create a unique wedding concept to inspire couples as they plan their event. I couldn’t resist and rushed to create a star-studded team of local DC vendors which included, Kate Triano Photography, Holly Chapple Flowers, and Paperzest. Other amazing vendors that contributed to the design included Unveiled Bridal Designs for the veil, Vintage Mama, a new dress designer on etsy, and Julia Juliette who created the letterpresses coasters.
My absolute favorite part of the shoot was the “Boombox Love” guests book, where guests can leave message for the couple on their big day.
Here are some of the fabulous images, but head over to The Sweetest Occasions Blog to see more, and post your love for the 80’s. We would love to win!”

Kris is kool like that.

Curly was a fantastic model (hillbilly teeth and all).

Last week I had the pleasure of lunching (and photographing!) with the best group of wedding planners in our area. We were blessed with stunning weather and took advantage of the locations charming terrace in Georgetown. It was quite nice to chat with wedding planners and hear about their exciting weddings coming up in the 2010 season. Photographers don’t usually get to know about all the details until the day of.
A HUGE thank you to Pam Barefoot (Atrendy Wedding) for setting this up, you are the best! Thanks to Nick Perez of Multiflor, floral designer extraordinaire, for the stunning textured centerpieces and tabletop decor.

Pam had notecards made from Etsy for each of the attendees. So sweet!

Thanks to SilverLeaf for the yummy bites.

Here is the entire group: (from left to right)

Magazines and catalogs are like my crack. I get so excited when they arrive in the mail, and I am never one to resist the luring of the checkout aisle. Never. It definetly runs in the family too. My Mom, sister and sister-in-law and I share magazines regularly. So much in fact that it drives Joey nuts. I think it’s the clutter they produce though, there are stacks everywhere in our house! Here are some recent catalogs that have given me inspiration for my photography, which their crisp editorial style are perfect for.

And a big Thank You to The Knot magazine for printing Chip and Lauren’s wedding.
