I am not sure where to start this post. I am so in love with Katie and Patrick. Patrick is the cousin of my lovely past clients Laurie+Matt. I love it when I am referred to family members, it lets me know that every one was super pleased with the job I had done for them. For you to like me enough to take me to Kauai though, well that is just a whole ‘nother level of like! The trip was amazing, the wedding perfection. I did get terrible food poisoning, but that will be another post (HUGE THANKS TO JOEY FOR HELPING ME OUT ON THE WEDDING DAY SINCE I WAS UNDER THE WEATHER!!!). :)
You guys could not have had a more beautiful day. Just the sheer amount of people who made the trip shows how lovely you are. I can’t wait for our shoot here in the city!

I love this shoe shot, I focused on the vows that she had tucked into the toe so she wouldn’t forget them.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

I was so honored to be apart of this wonderful gift. Liz Guthrie, of San Jose Wedding Consultants, and Wish Upon a Wedding, along with many other generous vendors, are offering a luxurious high-end $100,000 wedding in San Francisco. Talk about amazing!!! Along with Vicki and Phong, from My Simple Details here in Fairfax, and Mike and Zan, from Silk and Silver Productions, we shared the great news with the winners, Vanessa and Mike, who are also currently located here in VA. It was an incredible thing to be a part of, and I am so happy I was asked to photograph the big reveal.

This coincided perfectly with my free wedding photography giveaway. I am happy to announce that the winner is…….. going to be announced tomorrow. Ooopps, sorry, it’s taking longer than I thought to choose!!! Thanks to all of the couples who submitted their stories. I’ve had a great time reading through them all with Joey. It gave me the warm-fuzzies to read so many love stories on Valentines Day morning. What a great way to start the day!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Francisco, CA
February 14, 2010
Happy Valentine’s Day from the San Francisco Dream Wedding Giveaway! Valued at $100,000.00, this platiunum style wedding is being donated to one lucky couple by the bay area’s top wedding vendors, and the winner is being announced today.
After six weeks of public voting, the winning couple has been selected, and will be married on May 14, 2010 at Hotel Vitale in San Francisco. Over 350 couples entered the contest from all over the nation, and five of those made it to the finalists’ round. Read their stories here.

Currently residing in Virginia, Vanessa Muza Teskey and Michael Hawkins were chosen by the public as America’s Sweethearts, and we are thrilled by this exciting news!  Vicki Grafton of My Simple Details in Fairfax, VA surprised the couple with the news, and Silk and Silver Productions caught it all on video and Kate Triano captured these pictures as the news was revealed.
See the video here!

Here is Vicki Grafton revealing for the first time that they won!
Vanessa and Mike met after graduating from the Air Force Academy, and fell in love after Michael’s friends encouraged him to ask her out.  Mike deployed overseas and Vanessa was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. From 11,000 miles apart, their belief in God and the contest gave them hope for a brighter future.  Throughout the course of the contest, Vanessa’s health has been improving.

Now they really have something to look forward to, as the prize they have won includes everything needed for a high-end, luxurious wedding, and all they have to do is show up!
Along with 75 of their closest friends and family, Vanessa and Mike will enjoy two separate catered parties: first a rehearsal dinner at 1 Fort Mason, and then the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing at Hotel Vitale.  The wedding reception menu includes tray passed appetizers, and a three course Chef’s tasting plated dinner, followed by a custom-designed cake from Cake Coquette. Mike and Vanessa will dance to the sounds of The Misa Malone Project, enjoy wines from Robert Mondavi Winery,  and have their images sketched by talented local caricature artist, Jon Casey.
Also included:  Event designer, wedding planner, custom designed invitations, favors, three florists, classical guitarist for ceremony, jazz trio for cocktail hour, DJ/Emcee, specialty lighting, specialty linens, and all rentals.   Wedding gown, bridesmaids’ dresses, mothers’ dresses, bridal party shoes, hair, makeup, spa treatments including manicures, pedicures and massages.  A three night honeymoon to Napa at the Milliken Creek Inn & Spa tops off this dream destination wedding.

A lot of times I go into an engagement session without having met the couple before since more and more of my clients are booking sight un-scene. Vicki from My Simple Details styled the shoot, and set me up with the couple. I knew I was in for a treat, as Vicki can rock out details! I was so excited when I met Astrid and Fred, especially seeing their pup Henry. He is a Bichon, which as you know my little Pancakes is half Bichon. So they had a piece of my heart from the get-go! Vicki hauled out a fab white leather settee as well as some super adorable props for the shoot.

If you are interested in setting up a fabulously styled shoot with Vicki and I, shoot me an email! (kate@katetriano.com)

Enjoy the photos!

Part two of Michelle and Jason’s fabulous Cape May wedding at Congress Hall, yay! Sorry for the delay folks! We ended the last post with the ceremony so now we are on to the portraits and reception! Enjoy!!

one last kiss after walking down the aisle as husband and wife

congrats and kisses

when a couple provides parasols for the guests, it’s a law that you must photograph the b&g with one as well :)

Jason’s grandma made all the groomsmens vests by herself! Each one had a funky-cool lining and a patch that says:

I can’t remember what that means though – something about West VA? Jason, remind me! :)

love the shoes and socks!

John Denvers “thank God I’m a Country Boy” happened to be playing while we were taking the guys shoe shot, so they had to have some fun :)

i hope you all love the portraits as much as i do!

the reception room was just fantastic. i love the modern chic colors and style. LOVE IT!

i adore the table-name plants for each guest!

Michelle and her Dad’s dance started off sweet as can be, and ended up….

AWESOME! the bridesmaids came out to join and did a fab rehearsed dance

their DJ (dj polo) is a dear friend so he was a guest and the dj!

another law, when Alan Greenspan is a guest at your wedding you dance with him! :)

congrats again you two, you rock my world!!

Holly : ( Aug 25th - 19:55 ) Love everything about this wedding! Escpecially the shoes - any idea where she got them?

Finally! I know I’ve been teasing you all with this wedding, sorry about that! :)

Michelle and Jason were married in Cape May, NJ, on June 20th. I was so honored to be a part of this loving couples wedding day. They are so kind and sincere. When I first met them, I knew we were a good match!

Their venue, Congress Hall was across from the beach, so up my alley, pretty much the coolest venue I’ve been to.

all the details of this wedding were just stunning. the dress, jewelry, guys outfits, reception room. the PEOPLE. everything.

Michelle getting help with the final touches from her Mom and her maid of honor…

and the bridesmaids seeing her ready for the first time. i love their reactions!!

you could see the ceremony location from the suites balcony, it was moved off the lawn because of the rain. I loved how intimate it was under the patio, it was perfect.

a bit more prep time…

and some champagne..

i love how her dress tied with tulle at the neckline, so chic!

a quick portrait outside the room and then it was time to head down for the ceremony!

parasols, fans, and perfect programs

i love how when she is looking at the reader, he is looking at her. so sweet! :)

laughs and tears during their handwritten vows

coming back up the aisle for photos, loev it!

to be continued………

Terra Dawn : ( Jul 17th - 20:56 ) I think I would seriously die of happiness if I walked into the getting ready room and saw all of that color!!   The pink, blue and green are just stunning!!  I love that the bride´s shoes match the flower girl´s sash and the bridesmaid´s dress.  So precious!!!   I can´t wait to see the rest!  Megan Beth : ( Jul 17th - 01:17 ) GAH!!! TBC??? I´m dying over here.  I adore this wedding, you did an amazing job.  Every little detail looks so very perfect!  Ashley : ( Jul 16th - 22:08 ) This bride didn´t miss one detail! What phenominal photos!!
