Lauren & Chip were married on 8.16.08 in Old Town Alexandria. I had been looking forward to Chip and Lauren’s wedding forEVER! I had the honor of steathily photographing Chip proposing to Lauren last October. She said yes of course and their wedding was nothing short of perfect!
Lauren’s dress and veil were stunning!

We did a few quick bridal portraits in the lobby before heading to the church. The Hotel Monaco is my new favorite place to shoot. The lighting and colors are amazing.

I am a blog slacker!! Last weekend I shot a great wedding in DC at St. Matthews Cathedral and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. We had amazing weather for August so we took advantage and ran around the city scoping out cool spots.

I must dedicate this post to my Mom and Joey for helping out so much in our backyard. Thank you both for all the carrying, moving, constant nagging (mom)
Now I must preface these pictures by saying it isn’t the best backyard ever, but it was terrible before and it is so nice to now have a little backyard garden oasis.
Here the horrible before pictures. We were overrun with crab grass and lava rocks. I curse lava rocks!

and now the new and improved photos! i ripped up all the crabgrass and sprayed round-up so it wouldn’t come back. i bought a bunch of ground cover plants such as liriope and my mom gave me a bunch of hostas. we laid a flagstone path to the gate, planted some butterfly bushes, annuals in huge pots where the lava rocks were, got a cute flute playing frog fountain, windchimes, humming bird feeder, and some other stuff.
and wah-lah! *can you spot the photo with pan’s peg leg?*
